In the New Product Showcase at SEMA360, paint material and equipment supplier 3M showcased their new Performance Spray Gun.

Lightweight and easy to use, the new gun was designed with technician comfort in mind. It can be used to dispense a wide range of coating products, whether by pressure feed or gravity feed cup.

Its composite structure resists impacts and makes it one of the lightest guns on the market. This lightness is not at the expense of durability since the tool was designed to withstand the conditions found in higher volume body shops without flinching.

A versatile tool

It is versatile since it can be connected to a pressure line for the treatment of large surfaces, continuously. It can then be combined with 3M’s PPS series cup system to attack smaller surfaces. This allows the precise application of only the required amount of paint.

Its innovative design also results in a reduced number of parts to be cleaned or maintained. With quick-change nozzles, you can switch from a 1.1 to a 2.0 atomization format by simply wiping the tip of the needle. No need to disassemble and soak parts in solvent.

The different nozzles make it possible to work with various types of finishing products and even adhesives.

According to 3M, the gun is so simple to use that it can be put into action as soon as it comes out of the box, in the hands of an expert painter as well as those of an apprentice on the first day on the job.
