As part of the AAPEX trade show in Las Vegas, Nexus, the buying group and driver of change in the automotive aftermarket industry, invited industry representatives to a luncheon discussion.

Nexus is a global alliance of distributors, including Uni-Select and Carquest.

Its role is to forge commercial links between parts manufacturers and these distributors, to ensure that automotive aftermarket shops have access to the parts they need to service their vehicles.

Nexus also sees itself as a facilitator of change, given that global warming directly challenges the automotive sector to embrace better practices.

During the meeting, a number of Nexus members discussed the initiatives taken by both parts manufacturers and distributors to improve their image.

In fact, Joe Stephan, Nexus Vice President Sales and Development, emphasized that the role of the aftermarket is already to ensure the proper and safe maintenance of motor vehicles in order to make them more durable.
