The manufacturer of tire industry equipment and tools continues its growth by expanding its product catalogue while completing strategic acquisitions.
During Autosphere’s visit to the Martins Industries booth at SEMA, beyond the numerous pieces of equipment designed to facilitate shop work while enhancing worker safety, attention was drawn to modest-looking accessories that play a crucial role in transport safety. These are Checkpoint indicators which, when positioned on heavy truck wheel nuts like directional arrows, provide a visual indication if any wheel bolts have loosened. The Checkpoint visually indicates nut movement. By placing Checkpoints point-to-point, or in another easily recognizable pattern for all staff, any nut movement becomes visible at a glance.
In the same family of heavy-duty accessories, a Checkpoint variant melts when the nut temperature exceeds 165 degrees Celsius. Again, a visual inspection reveals if any wheels are overheating due to brake friction or wheel bearing issues.
Martins Industries also offers the Checklink, which not only indicates loose nuts but also keeps them in place. This part will also melt in case of wheel overheating.
It’s worth noting that Checkpoint products are biodegradable.
