Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. is introducing the 114R—a new low-rolling-resistance (LRR) commercial tire designed for regional haul fleets and spread-axle operators looking for maximum tire life.
Available in six sizes—11R22.5, 11R24.5, 255/70R22.5, 275/70R22.5, 295/75R22.5 and 285/75R24.5—the 114R is SmartWay verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which means it’s validated to reduce resistance and improve fuel economy or emissions.
“At Yokohama, we want to help commercial fleets reduce costs and one of the best ways to do that is to ensure their tires go a long way,” said Diana Colosimo, Brand Development Manager for Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. “The new 114R is produced with targeted characteristics that enhance durability and reduce wear, to make sure they last a long time. Plus they’re also environmentally friendly, helping vehicles improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.”
Benefits of the 114R include:
- Longer wear, achieved through round shoulder ribs specifically designed to resist curb damage, especially for spread axle applications.
- Longer tread life, thanks to an advanced high-scrub compound that resists tread cutting and chipping, without negatively impacting fuel efficiency.
- Enhanced durability, accomplished through funnel-shaped step grooves that prevent stones and other debris from reaching, and potentially damaging, the casing.
- Improved mileage, attained through an optimized tread depth that delivers maximum fuel efficiency and long-lasting service.
- Extended tread wear, thanks to a sturdy rib design that also provides flawless tracking and improved fuel efficiency.
