Qué-Mont’s relocation has breathed new life into their operations while providing the required space to keep the team together in this era of social distancing.

President Dominic Labelle, who succeeded founder Pierre Warren, has presided over the company since 2013. He credits the success of the company’s first 40 years to its exceptional team.

“Although I may be the captain, the ship is nothing without its crew,” he explains. This ship is sailing with an especially strong tailwind.

Despite the economic uncertainties of the past year, Qué-Mont Equipment has posted its best financial results in four decades.

Basics of success

There is a reason for this success. For starters, there’s the knowledge and experience of their nine sales reps who cover the vast expanses of Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, and Newfoundland.

“These are experienced individuals who are passionate about the industry. They make it their business to remain educated and informed about the latest innovations offered by our vendor part- ners. To stay ahead, we actively participate in all major industry events on our continent and in Europe.”

The team is responsible for passing on this knowledge during its regularly scheduled visits to shop clients.

“Over time, we’ve gained the trust of our customers, who rely on our team for support,” adds Labelle, for whom these relationships are the key to success in the marketplace.

The field representatives are supported by four dedicated customer service specialists. Their role is to support the sales team, including tracking online orders.

The distributor’s digital platform, which is also the gateway to its entire catalogue, has proven its worth. Customers now use it instinctively. However, an expert eye is continually monitoring orders to ensure that customers have all of the relevant information required to complete the transaction.


Another element that explains the company’s steady growth is the depth of its product lines. This is a direct result of its affiliation with the Ascot Corporation buying group, providing them with a significant level of purchasing power while offering access to an impressive range of competitively priced merchandise.

“The fact that we offer products, tools, and equipment that shops can’t find elsewhere, along with technical advice from our experts, has certainly worked in our favour over the years, and even more so during the pandemic, which has disrupted supply chains,” explains Labelle.

Adding value

This high level of customer support adds value to Qué-Mont Equipment’s overall business relationship with its customers. In addition to this support, Qué-Mont Equipment is the only distributor in the industry that provides a repair service for the equipment and tools that it sells.

Back in 1997, the company opened an equipment repair shop under the direction of Jocelyn Gervais. This bustling division employs a full-time technician, and the hiring of an additional team member is imminent.

“Providing expert advice to our clients, offering them everything required to grow their businesses and supporting them in their day-to-day activities has been the foundation of our success over the first 40 years of our operations,” says Labelle. “And it is based on these values that we will continue to progress.”

Qué-Mont Equipment has been a supplier member of the Association of Tire and Mechanic Specialists of Quebec (ASPMQ) for several decades, and this association of tire and mechanical service providers is especially important to them.
