During the virtual exhibition AAPEX 2020, the parts supplier Dorman proposed several new products to simplify the work of technicians.

Dorman likes simple and efficient solutions. For example, the company has just added to its catalogue complete replacement assemblies for wiper motors and transmission arms.

Instead of replacing only the defective motor, Dorman offers a complete kit that also includes the transmission arms. This is designed to avoid the return of a customer with a wiper problem that could have been avoided if the entire assembly had been replaced on the first visit.

But since this part was designed by Dorman’s engineering department, it will save time, money and headaches. In fact, according to the company, the installation is done in 35% less time than with any other type of assembly. Since the assembly includes all the necessary parts, the search time drops to zero.

A pre-assembled axle

Another interesting product is the rear axle of the OE Fix range, which is better than the original part. In this case, we are talking about an axle, delivered pre-assembled, intended for the Lexus GX460, 4Runner and FJ Cruiser of Toyota. Brake support parts and rotation parts for the wheels are included in the assembly. This approach avoids the use of a press in the workshop.

Electronic Rack

Finally, Dorman offers a new replacement electronic power steering rack ready to install on nearly two million Ford F-150 pickup trucks operating in North America.

Again in the OE Fix line, the solution is turnkey since a programming unit is included, avoiding the need to go to the dealer or find a manufacturer’s programming tool.

The rack is sealed in such a way that it will be protected from water which can cause resistance in the direction. Its design has been validated according to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards and the part is available for less than the original.
