At the 2024 SEMA Show, the AkzoNobel booth was a centre of attention. Taking pride of place, was the stunning Twelve Air, a hand-built custom 1953 Chevy Corvette “Corvair Concept,” built by Dave Kindig and the Kindig-It Design team for owners Dave and Tracey Maxwell. This stunning creation is coated by Modern Classik Kindig finishes, powered by the Sikkens Brand from AkzoNobel.
Autosphere caught up with Sue Jaszkowski, Marketing and Communications Manager for AkzoNobel in North America. She noted that Modern Classik Kindig finishes proved to be a reall attention grabber at the SEMA Show. “Twelve Air has been a great way for us to showcase this product which is Dave Kindig’s own paint line available through Sikkens.” She also said that AkzoNobel’s Carbeat collision centre workflow management system continues to prove hugely popular and attendees were lined up to watch on-site demos. “It’s really been taking off and and helping shop owners and operators understand that there’s a really easy path to greater productivity and profitability by using this tool.”
There’s also been a soft launch of a new product called Refinish+ by AkzoNobel. Essentially, this brings together all of AkzoNobel’s refinish digital solutions into a single platform. The idea is to help collision centres streamline their operations, improve efficiency and increase profitability, especially important during an era when many body shops are dealing with higher costs, greater repair complexity and skills shortages.
Collision centre managers and staff can access a range of tools, such as AkzoNobel’s cloud-based color retrieval application, MIXIT, and Carbeat through a single log-in. Refinish+ also streamlines ordering and provides access to e-learning resources and important product information. It also has the ability to integrate third-party software.
