SEM Expands Blue Fine Line Masking Tape Range

Providing bodyshop technicians with added precision during complex paint jobs, SEM adds two new widths to its high-temperature Blue Fine Line masking line. 

Automotive refinish manufacturer SEM® has expanded its Blue Fine Line Masking Tape portfolio with the addition of two new sizes: 1/16″ x 108′ (SM0116) and 3/4″ x 108′ (SM0034). The additions join existing 1/8″, 1/4″, and 1/2″ widths to offer refinish technicians five sizing choices for precision masking.

For collision repair center owners, paint department managers, and refinish technicians, the line targets cycle-time efficiency by preventing paint bleed-through and ghost marking on freshly painted panels. Featuring a flexible, rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive, the tape supports clean removal after high-bake oven cycles up to 150°C (302°F).

The formulation is engineered for straight-line masking and detailed multi-color graphics, offering compatibility across waterborne and solvent-based refinish paint systems.
