ALLDATA President Satwinger Mangat, along with the company’s Sales and Marketing Directors, travelled from the USA on May 8 to visit three Quebec City-area workshops for discussions with their managers.

The tour was coordinated by Philippe Blouin, ALLDATA’s Business Solutions Consultant for the Quebec City region.

During the tour, MaxRick in Quebec City, Bumper to Bumper in Saint-Nicolas and CarrXpert Val-Bélair opened their doors to the delegation.

“Our primary objective in these regular field visits is to hear from our customers,” explains Mangat. “We can see how our solutions are used on the shop floor and, above all, get any suggestions for improvement directly from users. And of course, it’s also an opportunity to thank them for doing business with us.”

In these three workshops, including one specializing in mechanical maintenance and auto glass, ALLDATA representatives were able to see how their digital management platforms enable them to accurately assess, with all the necessary documentation, the work to be carried out after a collision. On the mechanical side, Simon Harvey from Bumper to Bumper explained how useful the diagnostic tool was, presenting not only repair processes direct from the manufacturers, but a very accurate assessment of the times needed to complete them. “And when I came across a problematic situation, I was able to talk to ALLDATA’s technical support team who helped me, in French.”

During the visit to CarrXpert Val-Bélair, a workshop that stands out for the efficiency of its operations, owners Ian Boissonneault, Yves Roussel and Kathleen O’Malley led the group on a tour of the workshop. The ALLDATA team explained how ALLDATA Repair Planner, the newest addition to the collision suite of products, made it possible to document all the repair processes required by manufacturers and integrate them into the estimate sent to insurers.

Philippe Blouin took advantage of the visit to present to body shop managers the deployment of the new ALLDATA tool, Repair Planner, which has been added to the ALLDATA Collision platform. This module reviews the estimate line by line and will indicate where OEM repair procedures are required, and provide the procedure to the customer via ALLDATA’s Collision program in a seamless workflow.

For ALLDATA’s management, the visit was an opportunity to learn more about the particularities of Quebec’s automotive aftermarket shops, particularly in terms of language.
