Repairify, the company behind asTech remote diagnostic and device platforms, recently announced the appointment of Jean-Luc Sauriol as the new Senior Vice President, Business Development for Canada, effective January 2021.

This is a logical progression for Jean-Luc Sauriol, whose background includes more than 30 years in the field of advanced automotive diagnostic solutions. His mandate will consist of raising brand awareness and promoting the benefits of the asTech remote diagnostics and repair solutions for the collision repair market.

”Our company performs thousands of remote vehicle data analyses for our collision repair shop customers each and every day,” he explains.

“We plan to increase our market penetration and substantially increase the number of shops benefiting from this technological solution.

“There is also a strategic component to the asTech offering, as the need for collision service providers to perform pre-and post-repair scans continues to rise, we are there to support them as they strive to perform quality, safe repair procedures on the vehicles in their care.

“Our services enable the shop to keep the vehicle in the service bay as opposed to moving it to an OE dealer for these services. Therefore, improving the length of repair as well.”

Remote Diagnostics

For collision repair shops, using the remote platform consists of simply connecting the asTech transponder into the vehicle’s on-board diagnostic system (OBD-II) port to access, via the Internet, a hundred or so ASE certified master technicians specialized by brand.

In less than two minutes the vehicle gets the link to the OE scan tool and technician, who will produce a detailed report covering all of the vehicle’s electronic modules in less than 15 minutes.

“We have access to all of the brand-specific OEM scan tools, which allows us to retrieve the information required to perform a comprehensive vehicle diagnostic report, as well as providing a detailed description of the work to be performed, including module re-programming and sensor calibrations,” explains Jean-Luc Sauriol.

“It is a cost-effective solution for collision repair shops and insurance carriers. It provides timely access to crucial information without investing in expensive OEM scan tools and continuous, costly upgrades. We can do it all for them.”

The initial transponder purchase is all that’s required for shops to benefit from this invaluable, advanced pay-per-use solution. Volume discounts are also available with partners as part of banner programs.

The newly-appointed Repairify Senior Vice-President also plans to work with his Networks partners to support specialized calibration centres across Canada. These network members would provide valuable services for those repair shops that might not have space, equipment, or training to perform these vital procedures safely.

Helping insurers gain a better understanding of the available data and the implications and issues regarding pre-and post-repair scanning and calibrations requirements will also be among Jean-Luc Sauriol’s top priorities.
