Michelin Launches Connected Solution to Control Fleet Charging Costs

By aggregating public charging access and vehicle telematics into a single platform, Michelin’s new tool aims to control roaming energy expenses for commercial fleets.

The rapid electrification of corporate fleets presents fleet managers with complex operational challenges when monitoring on-the-road charging expenses across fragmented public networks. To address varying tariffs and access methods, Michelin is introducing MICHELIN EV Charge to streamline driver travel and unify cost management.

Through a single access card and mobile application, drivers can locate available charging stations, plan routes, and power their vehicles. On the management side, the solution offers enhanced financial visibility by eliminating extra network fees and offering negotiated rates in select cases to keep energy expenditures predictable.

The platform integrates directly with the provider’s MyConnectedFleet telematics software. By automatically combining data on energy consumption, charging status, and driving habits, fleet operators can pinpoint inefficient charging practices and implement targeted optimizations. According to Michelin, this consolidated oversight helps businesses streamline their transition to electric mobility while maintaining tight control over operational budgets.
