Michelin Introduces X Multi Energy D2 for Regional Drive Applications

Lowering total cost of ownership for regional fleets, Michelin launches a drive tire engineered to improve fuel economy, casing retreadability, and wet traction.

Michelin North America has introduced the Michelin X Multi Energy D2 drive tire, designed specifically to handle high-torque powerplants, stop-and-go driving, and variable road conditions in regional haul operations. Built on Michelin’s Duracore casing platform featuring Infinicoil and Powercoil technologies alongside reinforced Duracoil beads, the casing is engineered to log up to one million miles and accept up to four retreads.

For commercial fleet directors, heavy-vehicle maintenance managers, and tire dealers, the fitment reduces fuel expenditure while enhancing late-life wet handling and snow traction.

According to Michelin North America executive leadership, the tire achieves a 9 percent reduction in rolling resistance compared to its predecessor while meeting federal Greenhouse Gas (GHG) compliance standards. The X Multi Energy D2 is available immediately in 295/75R22.5 LRG and 11R22.5 LRG/LRH sizes.
