As Distribution Stox and Point S celebrate their 10th anniversary in Canada this year, Unimax Ltd. continues to drive its business strategy forward by combining the strengths and expertise of its divisions to better serve the Canadian automotive market.
Unimax brings together distribution operations through Distribution Stox in Eastern Canada and North Country Tires in the West, paired with retail banners including Point S, V1, Otobox, and Centre du pneu local, along with its recognized wheel expertise through RSSW. This integrated model streamlines operations and brings real, practical value to partners nationwide.
To mark this milestone year for Distribution Stox and Point S, we sat down with Alexandre Lauzon, VP of Sales for Eastern Canada, and Patrick Lavoie, VP of Retail & RSSW Wheels, to reflect on these key moments.

10 years in, Distribution Stox isn’t slowing down
In just ten years, Distribution Stox has established itself as one of Canada’s leading tire and wheel distributors. The company has experienced rapid growth driven by an ambitious expansion strategy and several key acquisitions across the country. “On top of that, organic growth has been fueled by building close relationships with our nearly 12,000 customers,” explains Lauzon. “We listen to their needs and make sure we optimize every interaction.”
For instance, access to the digital catalogue and online ordering saves dealers significant time and reduces the risk of errors. That said, sales representatives remain closely connected with retailers and meet with them regularly. “Our industry is still built on relationships,” summarizes Lauzon.
Today, the network spans more than 30 distribution centres, offering over 2.4 million square feet of warehouse space and room for 3 million units. That sheer capacity, paired with a full-line catalogue and nimble service, solidifies the distributor’s strong position across Canada.

Setting new standards
Ten years ago, the Point S banner officially launched in Canada. This widely anticipated arrival helped standardize the group’s image under a distinctive banner while structuring a national network of independent tire and mechanical repair shops.
“Today, the banner boasts an 83% aided brand awareness rate, with our Point S dealers on the front lines, driving higher standards in both service and technical expertise,” notes Lavoie. “Our goal is to deliver a consistent level of quality across every shop. We give our retailers the tools to constantly improve the customer experience, like rolling out an online appointment booking system.”
Thanks to the ongoing efforts of its network and the commitment of its dealers, Point S enjoys an 87% trust rating among consumers (source: CROP report, fall 2025). The Point S banner model offers flexibility to the entrepreneurs who adopt it. Backed by an established brand image, they are the ones redefining the customer experience every day through their hands-on know-how.
This demonstrates how the combined efforts and shared expertise within the broader Unimax family allow Distribution Stox and Point S to set new standards of excellence in the industry.
