Pirelli has established a new electric vehicle lap record on the Nürburgring track, clocking a time of 6:55 minutes with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Manthey Kit. Fitted with Pirelli’s specialized P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires, the vehicle effectively broke the traditional seven-minute barrier for production electric cars.

The tailor-made tire construction integrates Pirelli Elect technology, an advanced package of engineering solutions calibrated to optimize the high weight and instant torque dynamics inherent to high-performance electrified powertrains.

A significant technological milestone for the replacement tire market is the product’s environmental composition. This custom iteration of the P Zero Trofeo RS represents the first production tire manufactured with more than 50% certified bio-based and recycled materials to secure a Nürburgring record, designated by a specific logo on the tire sidewall.

Furthermore, the natural rubber compound utilized in development is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, ensuring strict supply chain sustainability from source to production plant.

While initially developed as original equipment for flagship hypercars, the road-legal P Zero Trofeo RS is now fully available to the wider replacement market for ultra-high-performance vehicles. The tire’s consistent track performance was recently validated by independent industry testing platforms, with Tyre Reviews naming it the benchmark among the world’s fastest track tires for dry handling and consistency, and Auto Bild Sportscars magazine awarding it an “Exemplary” rating during a comprehensive semi-slick tire group test.
