This new tire brand is shaking up the value-tier segment of the tire market by offering quality tires at value-tier prices.

Today’s budget-minded consumers are looking for affordable options when shopping for new tires. Many industry experts believe that we’re likely to see consumers moving out of top-tier tire brands into more affordable options this year. Household budgets are tight, due in large part to inflation and higher interest rates, and consumers need to cut costs and save money.

That’s one of the reasons why the RoadX tire brand has seen a steady rise in demand here in Canada, and in order to keep up with the growing demand for quality tires at value-tier prices, Sailun Tire Americas (STA) is expanding the RoadX tire lineup for 2024, and beyond.

Relatively new to the U.S. and Canada, the RoadX brand first debuted in Canadian stores about 18 months ago. Originally, it was available in a few select SKUs, but after noting the success of the brand, STA has decided to expand the RoadX lineup in order to satisfy the needs of a broader range of vehicle owners.

Winter tires

Currently, the lineup includes tires like the RoadX RXFROST WU01, which is a studless winter tire engineered to handle our tough Canadian climate. Thanks to the multi-siped asymmetrical tread design, the RXFROST WU01 boasts impressive traction and decreased braking distances, along with greater grip on ice and snow. The RoadX RXFROST WU01 has earned 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification and is available in S, T, H and V speed ratings (14-21 inches). It comes with a two-year road hazard warranty.

In addition to the WU01, RoadX offers an even more aggressive winter tire: the RXFrost FX11. Available for a wide variety of fitments for both cars and SUVs, this studdable winter tire offers exceptional handling and traction, making it ideal for some of the most severe Canadian winter conditions. The advanced siping reduces braking distances, while the proprietary compound ensures this tire consistently delivers the grip and performance today’s drivers can depend on. The FX11 is available in S, T and H speed ratings (14-19 inches), and comes with a two-year road hazard warranty.

All-season tires

On the all-season side of the tire market, The RoadX RXMotion MX440 is designed to provide exceptional handling in both dry and wet conditions. The modern tread pattern features four wide circumferential grooves that disperse water quickly and efficiently for excellent traction in wet conditions. The rubber compounding delivers a quiet and comfortable ride, which makes the MX440 the perfect tire for everyday use. Available in T, H, V and W speed ratings (14-18 inches), the MX440 comes with a two-year road hazard warranty, as well as a 100k km / 60-month limited tread life protection plan.

UHP tires

Budget-minded consumers shopping for a quality UHP tire can benefit from the design of the RoadX RxMotion U11, engineered for high-performance coupes and sedans. The U11 features a variable pitch tread design that provides a smooth and quiet ride, and its advanced tread compound delivers superior cornering and exceptional handling. The U11 is available in V, W and Y speed ratings (16-22 inches), and comes with a two-year road hazard warranty.

Light truck/SUV/CUV tires

Light truck owners are sure to appreciate the design of the RoadX RXQuest AT QX12. This all-terrain (A/T) tire is perfect for a variety of light truck, SUV and crossover drivers. The advanced tread pattern and aggressive sidewall make it ideal for both on-road and off-road adventures while providing a smooth and quiet ride for extended highway driving. The wide shoulders provide excellent grip in wet conditions, and the rim protector provides an extra layer of defence against scuff marks and chips. The QX12 is available in R, S and T speed ratings (15-20 inches), comes with a two-year road hazard warranty, as well as an 80k km / 60-month limited tread life protection plan.

Another option for light truck owners is the ROADX RXQuest HT HX01. RoadX calls this the ultimate premium highway terrain tire, providing unbeatable performance, outstanding traction, and exceptional durability. The HX01 is available in a range of sizes (16-20 inches), and comes with a two-year road hazard warranty, as well as an 80k km / 60-month limited tread life protection plan.

Designed specifically for the SUV/CUV market, the RXMotion SUV UX01 boasts enhanced wet traction, premium ride comfort, and improved tread wear. It’s the ideal tire for SUV and CUV owners, whether they enjoy long-distance journeys, weekend getaways, or if they simply use their vehicles to commute to and from work, as well as to and from the mall or their local big box stores. The UX01 is available in a range of sizes (16-21 inches), and comes with a two-year road hazard warranty, as well as a 100k km / 60-month limited tread life protection plan.

All-weather tires

No modern tire lineup would be complete without a quality all-weather tire. That’s why RoadX offers the RXMOTION 4S ALL-WEATHER tire, which delivers a dependable, comfortable and safe ride in all weather conditions.

Designed for drivers who only want to use one set of tires year-round, the 4S ALL-WEATHER offers more traction than all-season tires would in the winter months, while still providing a comfortable ride in the spring, fall, and during the hot summer months. The sophisticated compound and advanced tread pattern make this the perfect tire for daily commuting year-round. The 4S ALL-WEATHER is available in H, T and V speed ratings (13-18 inches), and comes with a two-year road hazard warranty, as well as a 65k km / 60-month limited tread life protection plan.

Last mile delivery tires

Finally, if you cater to the needs of commercial vehicle owners, your customers will certainly find value in the RoadX RXQUEST C11. Designed specifically to meet the needs of last-mile delivery fleets, the C11 is perfectly suited to the daylong stop-and-go patterns delivery truck tires have to be able to manage and endure. The C11 was engineered to withstand these daily demands and comes with a sidewall protector for added durability and longevity. The C11 is available in three sizes: 195/75R16C, 225/75R16C and 235/65R16C.

Coming soon

Later this year, RoadX will be introducing a number of key tire offerings, including a tire designed specifically for the electric vehicle market, a rough terrain tire designed for the light truck/ SUV/CUV market, and another UHP tire designed for performance enthusiasts. In addition, we can look forward to another all-weather tire, which will debut here in North America in 2025.

STA has decided to distribute this new tire line through an exclusive relationship with one of Canada’s better-known tire organizations. “Because of our history and the growing market demand, we have developed the RoadX tire brand, which is exclusively distributed by Kal Tire here in Canada,” explains James McIntyre, VP of Sales, Canada for Sailun Tire Americas, which owns the RoadX brand.

Although the RoadX brand is relatively new here in Canada, consumer feedback has already been very encouraging. “We’ve received positive feedback from our customers who choose RoadX tires,” says Gordie Henderson, Director of Retail Products at Kal Tire. “RoadX Tires are consistently exceeding expectations and earning the trust of our customers by offering the best for those who demand top-tier performance and reliability at an affordable price.”
