Hunter Engineering Company once again had an impressive display at the SEMA Show, and two new products of note this year, were Ultimate ADAS and the TCX51M Mobile Servicer Tire Changer.
Ultimate ADAS represents a major shift in the way in which ADAS calibrations are performed. It combines Hunter’s standard-setting alignment technology with an efficient and easy-to-use guided target placement system for vehicles that incorporates gimbal-mounted lasers. Both the gimbals and on-screen guidance are provided by Hunter’s WinAlign software which allows for highly accurate target placement and measuring, even compensating for unlevel floors and placement errors—using laser measurements to ensure precision accuracy.
Tommy Maitz, Marketing Director for Hunter, explained that Ultimate ADAS can cut setup time for calibrations by 70%, vastly increasing shop productivity and ROI.
Additionally, because Ultimate ADAS is also a Hunter Wheel Aligner, ROI begins on the day it’s installed in the shop. Maitz noted that Ultimate ADAS is currently available exclusively to Honda and Acura dealers and certified collision centres with expansion to other OEMs expected in 2024. For its game-changing capabilities, Ultimate ADAS also received a New Products Show Case award at SEMA.
Hunter’s new TCX51M Mobile Service Tire Changer is designed for use in mobile service vans but provides the same capabilities as a full-size, in-shop tire changer. Designed from the outset for efficient operation, the TCX51M incorporates an adjustable centre clamp, a two-speed 110-volt inverter motor and dual bead loosening rollers on the left side for easier tire removal, as well as Hunter’s FastBlast system that allows for quick and safe tire inflation. A swing-arm tool head also allows for an easy transition from shop to van and vice versa.
