The winter tire comes in studded and non-studded versions and accompanies a new standalone Nordman brand that will extend to future products in the segment.
The Nordman North 9 and Nordman North 9 SUV offer solid performance for all winter conditions. The tires are balanced, reliable and safe on ice and snow, while handling stays precise and easy. The Nordman North 9 and Nordman North 9 SUV are available for purchase at Nokian Tyres’ retail partners throughout the Nordics, Canada and the United States this fall.
Nokian Tyres launched the Nordman product family in 2004, but now the Scandinavian tiremaker is relaunching Nordman as an independent tire brand for value-driven consumers with a new logo and visual design, including newly designed tire sidewalls and a fresh slogan: NORDMAN – TIRES FOR YOUR DIRECTION.”
The product portfolio is expanding gradually to cover winter, all-weather and all-season categories for wide market coverage.
The Nordman North 9 delivers all-in winter tire performance powered by the professional NorthTech 9 solution. In snow, slush, or shine, Nordman tires take control of the road, while the driver takes control of their direction.

Winter drivers demand stability on snow and ice. The Nordman North 9 and Nordman North 9 SUV’s digitally optimized studding raises the level of safety especially on icy surfaces. Made to last, the hardcore NorthTech 9 studs work diligently year after year. The studded and non-studded versions of the tire keep handling predictable thanks to Snow Grip Boosters in the center of the tread that provide sharp edges to dig into snow.
Ease of driving
The Nordman North 9 provides precise behavior and control on snowy and wet roads thanks to an aggressive tread pattern combined with 3D siping and lightning-shaped Snow Grip Boosters. The NorthTech 9 tread compound is catalyzed by canola oil, which helps silica and natural rubber work together to deliver safety on snow and ice. The high concentration of natural rubber helps the tire remain soft in cold weather.

The new Nordman North 9 product range offers sizes from small family cars to sport utility vehicles. The range covers 32 sizes from 15 inches to 20 inches and comes with speed index T (118 miles per hour or 190 kilometers per hour).
