For many Canadians, the increasing price of gasoline has not only impacted wallets but also driving habits.

A recent survey conducted by Leger for BNN Bloomberg and RATESDOTCA, revealed that more than half (54 percent) of Canadians are driving less because of the high gas prices. This has caused a shift in consumer mindset, with one-in-five surveyed saying they would now consider buying a hybrid as their next vehicle, while 18 percent would consider a fully electric vehicle.

“Hankook recognizes the rapid growth and demand for electric vehicles and the need for suitable and sustainable EV tires to pair with them,” said Sungil Jun, President of Hankook Tire Canada. “Hankook’s range of high-performance EV tires are the perfect solution as they are designed for variable climates and allow for greater optimization of battery efficiency for drivers.”

Rapid response from Hankook

As we advance further into the era of EVs, Hankook has responded quickly by proving their technological expertise, quality competitiveness and high-performance mobility to transition towards zero-emission vehicles is second to none, as seen by their EV work with premium automotive brands like Audi, BMW, Porsche and others for equipment tires optimized for electromobility.

The Kinergy AS ev is equipped with top-tier technology to complement the characteristics of EVs. It provides a hyper-low noise environment for a comfortable ride and supreme driving performance on par with ultra-high performance tires. Electric drivers can expect a more enjoyable driving experience and a positive effect on mileage due to the high proportion of natural oils and resin found in the compound making the product more sustainable than conventional tries. In terms of design, its block pattern allows for optimal driving in all weather conditions.

High level of grip and traction

Similarly, the Ventus S1 evo3 ev combines unique traits, making the tire a leader in the EV market. The advanced reduced rolling resistance saves on fuel and cuts down on CO2 emissions in ICEV and increases the vehicle’s maximum range. The tire offers a high level of grip and traction to support higher loads compared to conventional tires and delivers strong initial acceleration to the road. Additionally, the advanced technology within allows for reduced rolling noise due to the nature of a quiet EV engine.

Hankook Tire not only pushes boundaries when it comes to sustainable efforts for their tires but in all facets of the company’s structure. Hankook actively participates in global sustainability initiatives, on a mission to make the world a better and more sustainable place to live. These have been acknowledged in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices each year since 2011 and have received the highest rating from EcoVadis Business Sustainability Rating consecutively for the past three years. Hankook Tire’s plans include furthering and establishing sound governance with objectivity and transparency to strengthen its ESG leadership in the global automobile sector.
