GTE 2021: Schrader Unveils New TPMS Programming Tool

During the 2021 Global Tire Expo that takes place in conjunction with the annual SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Sensata Technologies and Schrader, its aftermarket brand, revealed several new developments.

For Schrader, a big one at the show was the launch of its first-ever TPMS Programming Tool.

According to Mariam Lochoshivili, Global Marketing Communications Manager, Aftermarket for Sensata Technologies, this new TPMS Programming Tool is manufactured exclusively for Schrader.

“It is designed only for Schrader and features fully customized software and workflow,” said Lochoshivili.

This new programming tool is WiFi capable, allowing software updates via wireless networks and was designed from the outside to provide ease of navigation and better workflow for technicians.

“The navigation was designed to be very user-friendly with multiple icons and images of sensors to provide a much better visual experience and allow the technician to understand what is happening,” explained Lochoshivili.

Currently available to Canadian and U.S. customers, the new Schrader TPMS programming tool was launched with a special promotion that includes bundles with Schrader EZ sensors, good for November.

Other announcements included the launching of a new Sensata Technologies’ aftermarket website designed to provide an easy-to-use and look up the company’s range of products, plus the launch of a new tire-mounted sensor, which is already attracting interest from several OEMs.

While Lochoshivili acknowledged that it might be several years before such tools surface in the aftermarket, this new Intelligent Tire Solutions sensor represents a major leap forward in TPMS functionality and evolution.
