Hankook Tire released the next evolution of its Ventus all-season lineup, with the new Ventus S1 evo3, designed for luxury passenger cars, and small to medium-sized SUVs.
Hankook Tire Canada will offer its new high-performing model at major automotive retailers and independent tire shops across Canada, starting February 2021.
“Our new improved model Ventus S1 evo3 is a versatile, high-performing tire that is extremely well-suited to Canada’s varied climate,” says Sungil Jun, President, Hankook Tire Canada.
“Our product developers are constantly innovating to improve our lineup, and our new tire is just one example of how we’re transforming and improving the driving experience, while also prioritizing our commitment to sustainability.”
Designed for luxury vehicles
Designed for high-quality luxury vehicles, the Ventus S1 evo3 delivers superior comfort and low noise levels within the cabin. Its newly designed tread pattern enhances responsive braking on wet roads, superior performance in dry conditions, and provides sensitive handling and reliability without compromising vehicle mileage.
Testing shows that dry response in the new model tire is improved by 15 percent, with handling in wet conditions improved by eight percent over its predecessor.
The new Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 tread pattern features interlocking outside grooves, optimally placed to increase grip and handling and to prevent hydroplaning on slick surfaces. An increased number of inner blocks contribute to improved wet-surface drainage, while stiff outer blocks are optimized to enhance steering grip for high-pressure dry cornering, while reducing cabin noise.
Improved tread compound
New and improved, the tread compound is made from Highly Enriched Synthetic Silica Compound (HSSC), a material vulcanized at a low temperature for twice the regular duration, locking in the molecule blend to secure a compound promoting high performance and improved mileage. Structural integrity is ensured by the aramid reinforcement belt, high strength steel belt wire and dual layer fibre stiffener on the interior of the tire.
The new Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 is designed by integrating para-aramid, the strongest polymer material on earth. The tire features an aramid hybrid cord, which neutralizes acting forces by increasing the contact area between the tire and the road, reaching maximum sensitivity and stability at both low and high speeds and increasing the balance on corners.
Aramid is also used in durable items such as fireproof clothing, sailing boat rope and racing tires, and ensures the new Ventus maintains its high performance in extreme conditions.
The new Ventus S1 evo3, successor to the Ventus S1 evo2, was re-designed with Hankook’s core value of sustainability in mind, focusing efforts to improve wear-resistance, and fuel efficiency. The new tire is original equipment on luxury vehicles including the new Audi RS Q8, and the BMW 850i xDrive Coupé.
