Hankook Tire and the DTM racing series are celebrating a decade-long partnership as this season concludes.

Using Hankook’s Ventus Race tire, they have racked up more than 150 races together, forging a successful and innovative partnership.

The Ventus Race tire has demonstrated its quality in a diverse range of conditions— heavy rain and extreme heat in Nuremberg and Budapest, night races in Misano, and the Dream Race with the Japanese Super GT series in Fuji, proving to be a strong and reliable partner for DTM’s drivers.

Since its DTM debut in 2011, Hankook has continued to develop the Ventus Race tires. In 2012, the premium tire maker presented its second generation—a larger and wider tire, adapted to the new DTM cars. In 2013, Hankook developed the option tire, in addition to the basic slick, incorporating a super-soft compound for accelerated lap times. The latest Ventus Race tire was introduced in 2017 featuring a slightly softer compound, introduced alongside new race protocol, forbidding the pre-heating of slicks, making race tires and the drivers’ ability to manage them a crucial factor in the DTM.

Now in its tenth year, the partnership between Hankook and the DTM is thriving.
