Hankook Tire, the manufacturer of high-quality tires, has been officially presented as an official partner of the FIA ABB Formula E World Championship for tires and technology.

With the launch of the third generation, the World Championship will be held in metropolitan areas around the world, with Hankook tires that are robust, fuel-efficient, and sustainably manufactured.

All of our employees around the world are very proud that Hankook has been selected by the FIA following the tender and that the group’s status as a future partner of the FIA ABB Formula E Championship for tires and technology has been approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.

“Our company is supporting the transition from Formula E to a sustainable growth model: we are delighted to be part of this adventure as a partner for the third generation.

The approach to climate change and air pollution in urban areas by the FIA ABB Formula E championships is impressive: to promote the adoption of electric vehicles through this electric car race and its promotion to a wide audience around the world,” added Mr. Lee.

Hankook adapts to the environment

In partnership with Formula E, Hankook joins the project for a more environmentally friendly world by offering its innovative tire design technology, as well as its technical expertise, for all Formula E races.

These tires are suitable for both wet and dry environments and have low rolling resistance. They improve the efficiency of electric vehicles. They are durable, made with biomaterials, and sustainably-produced rubber.

Hankook Tire & Technology’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices is not new. The company recently received the Platinum Award, the highest distinction from the renowned CSR rating agency EcoVadis.

In addition, since 2016, the company has been consistently included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World): it is currently one of the three tire manufacturers on the list and the only one representing the Asian automotive equipment sector.
