Replacement parts supplier Dorman unveiled new products at the AAPEX trade show, demonstrating its commitment to offering repair shops parts that are better designed than the originals.
We met with Director Derek Suen at the Dorman booth to take a look at the new products in the popular OE FIX family. These include rack and pinion assemblies for Ram 1500 pickup trucks, air conditioning lines for Chrysler minivans, coolant lines for several Ford vehicle applications, and an improved oil filter housing for the Pentastar V6 engine.
“The important thing for us is to develop replacement parts that will perform better and last longer than the original part,” explains Mr. Suen. “We work with the parts involved in the most common problems, analyze them, and manufacture a part that will fix the issue.” ”
For example, he shows us a part that protects a mechanism that is too exposed to the elements, and another metal part that is a better replacement for the original plastic part.
