Electric Mobility was a key theme for Schaeffler at AAPEX 2023.

On display were a whole host of products, including the evolution of bearings. Gen1 required specialized tools and expertise to install while Gen2 and Gen3 versions were designed to improve both performance and ease of installation.

The latest bearing product on display was the TriFinity wheel bearing that’s specifically designed for electric vehicles. This was displayed alongside other advanced, next-generation chassis products including Schaeffler’s active roll stabilizer bar and intelligent Rear Wheel Steer (iRWS) plus its intelligent Active Roll Control (iARC).

Schaeffler also showcased its newly developed electric mobility demonstrator vehicle, a battery-electric truck based on a Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup. The modified truck features an electric motor and transmission, combined with an 800-volt 3-in-1 electric beam axle and Schaeffler-developed electric motor. This beam axle is the first of its kind and was designed specifically for light and medium-duty commercial vehicle applications.

Schaeffler also displayed a first-to-market newly manufactured OEM LuK Torque Converter for automatic transmissions, a new timing chain and auxiliary drive kits for internal combustion engines, as well as updates on its REPXPERT online repair and maintenance resource for service technicians.
