A bright sunny day saw more than 180 golfers hit the links at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club, Ariss, Ontario for the NAPA Ontario Charity Golf event on July 7th.

Everyone was playing for the Make-A-Wish Canada foundation and as a result, did an extremely good job as a cheque was presented to the charity for $16,000.00!

The Make-A-Wish organization helps make a child’s life-changing wish come true… a child that is living with a critical illness. They have been making this happen since 1983. And now NAPA Ontario has helped make the work of this foundation a little better with their generous donation. The cheque was presented to Tyler Mercer, Development Officer for Make-A-Wish Canada by Jonathan Ainley of NAPA Ontario.

Mercer thanked everyone and spoke about the foundation and their ongoing work to help make these children’s wishes come true. Since 1983, they have granted over 36,000 life-changing wishes, but because of COVID-19, thousands of kids are still waiting for their wishes. With a child being diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes, their need for donations is continuous. The cheque given today is most welcome.

Jonathan Ainley, NAPA Ontario General Sales Manager thanked all who came out to play golf and lend a hand with awards and sponsorships. He also presented trophies and plaques to the golf winners. Raffles were also prominent during the event.

The NAPA Ontario Charity Golf Tournament was very well attended and indeed very well run. As in charity events of this nature, much help is needed in order to be able to give as much as possible to the charity of choice. And this is where sponsors can help out immensely by contributing dinner, golf carts, lunch, breakfast, trophies, awards and more. As noted for this event, many companies stepped up to provide what was needed—Permatex Canada; Altrom Auto Group; Valvoline Canada; John Bean; Grote; Dominion Sure Seal; Kimberly-Clark; CRC; Arnott Air Suspension/Osram Sylvania; BBB Industries; Mann+Hummel; NAPA Echlin; April Super Flo; Gates Canada; Axalta Coating Systems; 3M Canada; Spectra Premium; Mevotech, UCDA; East Penn; Red Tek and NGK. Well done everyone… you have likely made a child’s wish come to life!
