Cléo, a Hydro-Québec subsidiary specializing in the management of electric vehicle charging fleets, has signed an agreement with Videotron for the optimized management of its electric vehicle charging solutions.
The telecommunications company, which already operates nearly 200 electric vehicles in Montreal, will thus be able to optimize the performance of its fleet.
Cléo’s intelligent platform can automatically generate charging plans adapted to the needs of electric vehicles.
This ensures that each vehicle receives the right amount of energy to complete its journey, while minimising power calls from the site and reducing the cost of electricity to the company.
Optimal refill management
“Cléo is proud to collaborate with Videotron in the optimal and dynamic management of the charging of its fleet of vehicles,” explained Jeff Desruisseaux, President and CEO of Cléo, in a press release. “We are pleased to help Videotron take full advantage of the benefits of fleet electrification through the application of energy efficiency principles. This is perfectly in line with our mission to support fleet operators in all sectors of activity in making a successful transition.”
With Videotron’s feedback, Cléo will be able to produce more efficient charging plans and offer features tailored to the specific needs of fleet operators.
In addition, lessons will be learned about opportunities to reduce energy consumption during peak periods for this type of vehicle in order to limit the impact of a large number of EVs on the Hydro-Québec network.
Supporting the green shift
Pierre-Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Videotron, said the agreement supports the company’s commitment to decarbonizing transportation in Quebec.
“We are proud to be among the first companies to make a concrete contribution to this transformation and Cleo’s expertise will certainly help us to make this transition a success,” said Mr. Péladeau.
