Two exciting vehicles made their debut at one of Canada’s best known race tracks.
The 2024 Drive Festival, which took place at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park from September 6-8, served as the backdrop for the introduction of the 2025 Bronco Sport Outer Banks with the Sasquatch package, and the 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD.
Mathieu Rompre, Product Marketing Manager for Ford Maverick started his presentation by explaining that the Maverick is attracting customers to the brand who have never owned a Ford before. “This vehicle is bringing new customers to the Ford showroom,” he added.
Rompre then explained how Ford updated the Maverick for the 2025 model year. This popular pick-up benefits from a facelift, and continues to be offered with the choice of two powertrain options. The 250-hp EcoBoost with all-wheel drive will be available across the entire model lineup, while the Hybrid will be available as either an all-wheel drive or a front-wheel drive model.
“The all-wheel drive option was the number one request from our customers,” Rompre said, “and we’re super excited to offer it. We know the all-wheel drive version will be extremely popular.”
Rompre explained that 50% of Maverick customers use their vehicles to tow, and that the standard towing package has a capacity or 2,000 lbs. Hybrid AWD models, on the other hand, will be able to tow up to 4,000 lbs. “So now, our customers will be able to enjoy the fuel-efficiency of a hybrid, plus the towing capacity of the Maverick,” he added.
Inside, the Maverick comes with a new centre stack, complete with a new 13.2-inch screen, Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The instrument panel has been overhauled for the new model year, and instead of analog gauges, all models get a digital and fully-customizable eight-inch display.
Rompre concluded his presentation by announcing that the 2025 Maverick will be available in a new trim: Lobo. Inspired by the lowered truck era that lasted from the mid-1980s to the early 2000s, the Lobo boasts a lowered ride height, and a boost in performance and handling. “It’s a bold customized look that marks the return of the street truck,” Rompre said.
2025 Bronco Sport
Next, Scott Kuzma, Vehicle Line Marketing Manager-Ford Enthusiast Vehicles, Ford of Canada unveiled the 2025 Bronco Sport, explaining that Ford continues to focus on the needs and wants of outdoor enthusiasts.
“Our customers like to go off road, and they like to accessorize their Broncos,” he added. “They go off-roading 3.5 times as often as the owners of competitive vehicles, and they go camping twice as often.”
The big news for 2025 is that the Sasquatch off-road package, which was previously available on the Ford Bronco, is now available for both 1.5-litre Bronco Sport Outer Banks and 2.0-litre Badlands models.
Designed for customers who want to push their vehicles to the limit, the Sasquatch package includes key upgrades, including larger all-terrain tires, an ultra-rugged twin-clutch rear-drive unit and locking rear differential, a rally mode, an upgraded suspension, a front brush guard, steel skid plates, modular and accessory-ready front and rear bumpers with steel bash plates, and much more.
One of the many interesting features is an available 360-degree camera with trail view, which shows width-accurate tire overlays, and features a split view that shows the front tires.
Like the 2025 Maverick, the Bronco Sport now comes standard with a 13.2-inch centre display, SYNC 4 with over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
2025 Maverick and Maverick Hybrid models are available to order now, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2025.The Bronco Sport Sasquatch will be available in Q1 of 2025.
