Groupe Saillant announced on July 3 the launch of its new philanthropic program “United for Your Cause” to support causes important to its employees.
The past year has been anything but restful for Groupe Saillant! After acquiring Volvo de Québec in May 2024, the Group is hitting another home run by launching its own charitable initiative. With this project, the family business from the Quebec City region aims to offer its employees the opportunity to collectively choose the organizations they want to support in their community.
According to Charles Saillant, Co-owner of Groupe Saillant, the new program aims to embody the Group’s commitment to the community while giving their employees a voice to support causes they care about.
For the program’s launch, Groupe Saillant presented two cheques of $5,000 each to organizations in the greater Quebec City area, totalling $10,000.
The first organization supported by Groupe Saillant is the Véro & Louis Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to building sustainable and adapted homes for people with autism aged 21 and over. This organization was chosen after two employees of the Group, an automotive mechanic and a used vehicle sales consultant, sent letters recommending this organization to the Group Saillant’s administration offices.
The second donation from Groupe Saillant was given to the Quebec Suicide Prevention Centre, an organization chosen by Maude Fillion, a human resources consultant at the Group.
The “United for Your Cause” initiative is a great example of collaboration between a company and its employees in the automotive sector. It remains to be seen if other dealerships in Quebec will be inspired by this movement and rally their teams around causes that are important to them.
