Making the Most of It
Being grateful for what we have is essential for driving us forward.
Modern life is stressful, busy and often we find ourselves feeling like we’re chasing our tails—caught up in the day-to-day operations of our businesses. Many trainers and life coaches will tell us it’s important to step outside the whirlwind and take stock of what matters, so we can plan for our business and our future. And I think the holiday season is the perfect time in which to do that.
We need to celebrate the things we have, the people in our lives and channel that gratitude toward giving back to and sharing with others. I also feel that this year, with many people continuing to struggle financially, that message is more important than ever.
Get involved
So, if you have an opportunity, why not host a fundraiser or charity event, sponsor a local sports team or partner with other businesses in your local community to raise money for a worthy cause? Donating vehicles for local non-profits or families can also be a great way to help your community, while at the same time raising the profile of your business. Giving often has a positive impact that goes beyond the physical exchange and often helps alter our own perspective, allowing us to focus on the things that truly matter and by extension, often leads to self-improvement and greater success. That’s why it’s so important to celebrate our family, friends, colleagues and communities.
Special dedication
On that note I wanted to dedicate this editorial to one of our beloved colleagues at Autosphere who recently passed away. Krystyna Lagowski was a long-time member of our team and a hugely talented, well-known, and highly respected writer. She brought enthusiasm and flair to everything she did and her up-beat personality and joie-de-vivre will be sorely missed by us and the wider journalistic community.
I was privileged to know Krystyna for a number of years, and she was without doubt one of the kindest and most sincere individuals I have ever met. Her work was always exceptional, and I can’t ever recall a deadline being missed. Thank you for everything you gave us Krystyna. Our world, and our publication, is so much richer because of you.
