General Motors Canada has let us know that as part of an ongoing commitment to enhance the entire customer experience from shopping to delivery, they have revealed an initiative inviting Canadian dealers of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac to commit to Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) guidelines related to COVID-19 business practices.

Dealers who enroll in the program have agreed to implement the GM Canada Clean Dealership Program by using PHAC-approved guidelines and Health Canada approved cleansers in their facilities, including high-traffic areas, and the cleaning of new, used and serviced customer vehicles.

The CLEAN Initiative

“Our dealers are already proficient at ensuring customer showrooms and test drive vehicles are top-notch in terms of cleanliness,” said Sandor Piszar, Vice President, Sales, Service and Marketing, GM Canada. “And we recognize that our customers’ expectations have changed in today’s world.

As a result, with recommended practices from the Health Agency of Canada, our engineering, service and sales teams have worked closely with our dealer network to develop a program where dealers commit to government issued processes and cleansers to help give our customers an enhanced experience when shopping for their next vehicle.”

Dealers will communicate their enrollment in the “CLEAN” initiative to customers through point of sale materials and other customer-facing messaging at participating locations.

The “CLEAN” initiative is just the latest in a series of dealer programs and tools aimed at enhancing the GM customer experience. Other programs include online shopping tools, optional home delivery where available, and extended connectivity services.
