A new brand and a proven approach for Simplicity Car Care’s U.S. expansion.

Simplicity Car Care is a true Canadian success story. Established in 2017, the network has rapidly grown to encompass more than 100 locations across the country. Now, it has set its sights on further growth by expanding into the United States.

Under the brand name Clarity Car Care, the network aims to bring the same values, operational consistency and customer-first strategy that has made it such a success in Canada.

 Core focus

 Domenic Ieraci, President of Simplicity Car Care who is overseeing the U.S. expansion, of the network, says that the organization’s mission since day one as remained the same—to make car care simple and affordable for every vehicle owner in the world. Ieraci acknowledges that while Canada will always be home base for SCC, “we have aspirations to be a larger organization, and the United States represents a logical next step in the growth and expansion of our network.” 

The U.S. presents a whole host of opportunities. For starters, it’s the single largest market for collision repair in the world valued at $34.73* billion in 2024 and projected to increase to $43.32 billion by 2032, with Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 2.80 during that timeframe.

A real opportunity

 According to data from IBIS there are still over 35,000 body shops in the U.S. and many independent operators, which Clarity Car Care sees as an opportunity to provide the same support and service as the Simplicity Car Care brand has witnessed in Canada.

 “There are a lot of independent locations in the U.S.,” says Ieraci and many of them are struggling, due to similar factors we see here in Canada. This represents a real opportunity for us under the Clarity Car Care brand to partner with these operators and put in place systems, procedures and discipline that will help improve their quality of life and grow their topline sales and reputation.”

 Ieraci says that this approach will help boost profitability and create inter-generational wealth and lasting growth, something that’s already been witnessed with the network’s franchisees in Canada.

 Specific markets

 In terms of establishing, its footprint in the U.S., Clarity Car Care has targeted specific markets, starting with the southeastern U.S.

 Regarding the name Clarity Car Care, Ieraci says the organization wanted something that was concise, and easily recognizable.  “In the early phase of our expansion efforts, we recognized that another organization in the U.S. had a trademark for the name Simplicity. Having the name Simplicity Car Care in the U.S. would create confusion with consumers, so we decided to take advantage of this opportunity to start with something fresh in a brand-new marketplace.”

 “This expansion is an extension of the foundation we’ve built alongside our franchisees, employees and customers,” says Ieraci. “A stronger, more diversified platform allows us to greatly improve our value proposition on both sides of the border.” 

New team

 In addition to the new, specific branding for the U.S. the team has already begun hiring staff that will assist in Clarity Car Care’s expansion and growth.

 Eric Gass was recently appointed as Brand Development Manager for Florida, and as the Clarity Car Care network grows, more key staff positions will be announced.

 Ieraci acknowledges that in the U.S., a key driver for the collision repair industry has been OEM certifications and ADAS, with the need to create specific calibration centres to ensure vehicles can be properly repaired to pre-collision condition. There are also local labour laws, taxation and other requirements, but fundamentally, he says, many shop owners are dealing with similar issues facing their Canadian counterparts, which is why now is the right opportunity to expand south of the border. 

 “We are advocates for independent collision repairers and have a deep understanding of the many challenges they face in their business,” says Domenic Ieraci.

 “I’m very proud of the work we’ve done to help so many collision repairers who were feeling stuck or not sure how to navigate in this complex and ever-changing environment. Our team of “Simplifiers” have made a significant impact on the lives of our franchisees by enhancing their business and helping them create a better quality of life,” he says.  

“And now, we’re looking to do exactly the same, helping our franchise partners in the U.S. increase and diversify their top-line sales, deliver unparalleled operational support and processes that allow them to focus on their key business priorities, as well as leveraging our Multi-Store Operation (MSO) experience to guide and support them through any operational challenges.”
