When you’re working in the collision repair sector, it’s often the anciliary products that really make the difference when it comes to working on and restoring vehicles back to original condition. At the 2024 SEMA Show, we had the opportunity to sample some extremely useful and important items from Kent Automotive.

Working on electric vehicles requires a different set of safety considerations and procedures. Kent Automotive offers its EV Starter Bundle which includes a rescue hook, face shield with hard hat, fire resistant balaclava, ‘Danger High Voltage’ signs including window mounted signs, plus a “Danger High Voltage Keep Out,” barrier and a Kent Automotive storage cabinet.

An EV Advanced Bundle builds upon that, adding an ArcGuard 12 Cal Coverall kit that includes a protective balaclava, a Dielectric Corrugated switchboard mat, a 15-inch Lockout “Danger” steering wheel cover, EV Key Technician Tags, in addition to the rescue hook, Danger signs and cabinet. Protective gloves, including Electrical Insulating items and Leather Protectors are also available.

“Our comprehensive line of EV safety equipment is proving very popular in Canada,” noted John Swierc, Director Automotive Sales, for Kent Automotive—an important consideration as more and more collision centres perform work on EVs.
