Textured plastics are becoming increasingly common on vehicles, particularly pickup trucks and SUVs where they are designed to encapsulate a rugged, outdoorsy image.

The trouble is that, when damaged, they have often proved difficult to properly repair, even when it comes to minor scratches and blemishes.

At the 2023 SEMA Show, Dan Ritchie and Glory Garisto from Kent Automotive showed us the company’s new 4Plastic Repair Solution which is specifically designed to replicate automotive textured finishes. This includes the primer, adhesion promoter and the textured finish coating. Different textures and tints are available to ensure repairs exactly replicate the original finish.

Not surprisingly the 4Plastic Repair Solution represents a game changer for shops, allowing them to slash costs and improve repair efficiency by being able to properly repair plastic components that previously had to be discarded and replaced.
