Long-time technician collision specialist leaves a proud legacy,

Francois Brunet, Territory Sales Director for CarrXpert in Quebec, recently reached out to Autosphere.ca for a special request.

Mario Goulet, a hardworking collision repair professional at Contant Collision Centre, a CarrXpert location in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in Quebec, was recently awarded Platinum Certification status by I-CAR Canada for his efforts.

Goulet trained as an automotive painter, beginning his career at a Ford dealer located in the south shore area of metro Montreal.

He later took on positions at franchised locations in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and has worked at Contant Collision Centre for nearly three years.

An incredibly talented individual, Goulet was quickly recognized by his employer, Benoit Contant, who allowed him to become a Platinum Certified technician through I-CAR.

Fitting tribute

Receiving Platinum Certification was in many ways the crown in Goulet’s achievements over the years and a fitting tribute to a long and successful career.

Besides being recognized for his technical skills, Goulet was a long-time promoter of health and safety in the workplace as well as stressing the importance of ongoing technical training for collision repair technicians.

Receiving Platinum Certification created a ripple effect on the entire team at Contant Collision Centre, which led to the shop being awarded I-CAR Gold Class Certification.

Sadly, in May, Goulet was diagnosed with terminal cancer. As a result, we at Autosphere.ca felt it was imperative to share his story so it may inspire others in this incredible trade.

As part of his legacy, Goulet requested that his Platinum plaque remains in the office of his employer, Benoit Contant not only as a tribute to the industry and the shop where he played such an active role but so that his own experience and recognition will inspire others to follow the same path, including friends and colleagues.

“Mario will always be one of the boys,” said Contant.
