The Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario (AARO) has launched registration for its upcoming live environmental awareness training webinar. The program is designed for automotive service technicians, fleet mechanics, and shop owners who require regulatory compliance for handling, servicing, and purchasing mobile air conditioning refrigerants.

Based strictly on Environment Canada’s Code of Practice for the Elimination of Fluorocarbon Emissions in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems, the 4-to-5-hour session covers environmentally responsible equipment design, proper recovery protocols, and current federal and provincial environmental mandates.

Core Course Benchmarks:

• Registration Fee: $295 per technician.

• Target Audience: Mandatory for any professional purchasing or handling refrigerants within Canada, individuals requiring Ontario ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) certification, or technicians with expired credentials.

• Delivery Format: Live online webinar (computer and stable internet access required; timeline includes exam completion).

• Operational Requirement: This certification is a strict regulatory mandate for purchasing refrigerants in Ontario but does not constitute a formal trade license.
