That time of year is nearly here again… time to get the golf equipment out and polished up for Shad’s R&R For The Kids golf event. It will be held at Woodington Lake, Tottenham, Ontario on Thursday, June 11^th. It includes breakfast with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. followed by dinner and raffle prizes.

The success of this tournament is due to the coming together of the entire automotive aftermarket industry. Shad’s is the one day the automotive aftermarket industry sets aside the competitive gloves and manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers come together in support of a single cause—to assist in finding a cure for the tens of thousands of Canadians afflicted by neuromuscular disorders. They are making a difference in the lives of many of those afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy.

Making a difference
It is such a proud moment when the Shad’s board of directors and hundreds of supporters who attend the event are able to listen to the doctors and patients explaining the profound effect their annual donations have. They have stated that Shad’s is making a difference in the lives of those so afflicted. The event regularly has over 300 in attendance from across North America each year and is the largest single day fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy in Canada!”

This year marks their 51^st event; a great accomplishment and loads of kudos go out to the Shad’s directors and hundreds of volunteers who spend many, many hours to make this occasion the success and fun it is. And all for a great cause!

Shad’s has a new logo, and it will head up this year’s golf day—”Shad’s R&R For The Kids—The Road to Ten Million”. In speaking with Charlie Grant, Chairman of Shad’s R&R For The Kids, he mentioned that they have a new logo and are also shooting to reach their goal of $10 million!

They’ve also made some changes in the ways the event is run. They are using technology to streamline processes like scoring and registration through ‘Golf Genius’. This makes it all faster, simpler and offers less administrative time for the organization! Instead of using signs throughout the hall during dinner and speeches, audio visual presentations will be made, thus making the ‘after golf’ event shorter in terms of time. The team has done this to make the day more efficient and fun for all those participating in the event.

C’mon everyone… get ready to help make Shad’s R&R For The Kids 2026—The Road to Ten Million the success it promises to be… look at who you are helping… The Kids!
