A well-known name in the battery space, ODYSSEY continues to offer a range of high quality and advanced lead acid and Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries. At AAPEX 2025, we caught up with Jeremy Cordray, Vice President, Global Transportation & Specialty products for ODYSSEY, who showed us some of the latest items available. In 2024, ODYSSEY launched a new line of motorcycle and powersports batteries that build on the firm’s long-cycle technology and are designed to outlast many traditional units and won’t expire if not connected to a maintainer for extended periods. ODYSSEY also offers a line of chargers designed to complement its batteries including 5-amp units for power sports and 15-amp units designed for automobiles and light trucks.

Cordray explained that the 15-amp charger is highly suited to customers that may not drive their vehicle every day but that will help maintain battery life and deliver solid cold cranking performance when required. A higher capacity 20-amp unit is also available for commercial vehicle applications.

Another innovation is chip technology. A chip is placed inside the battery that can connect to your smartphone through an app. The app can show you the state of charge and the condition of the battery, so you know when it needs charging and when it’s at full charge. Energy storage is becoming increasingly critical, and armed with this information, vehicle owners and service centres can monitor battery condition, ensuring better reliability, performance and satisfaction. ODYSSEY line of Evolution and Extreme AGM Batteries take that a step further, improving performance and extending lifecycles by offering engine cranking pulses of more than 2250 amps for five seconds—more than double that of conventional batteries.
