Over 600 attendees gathered for this major industry event.

Long a staple tradition for auto care professionals who attend the annual AAPEX and SEMA trade shows at the end of October/beginning of November each year in Las Vegas, the annual Canada Night event hosted by AIA Canada drew more than 600 attendees.

Taking place at the Murano ballroom on the third floor of the Venetian Expo conference centre, following the first full day of AAPEX, the event as always, provided a great opportunity to network, share stories and celebrate this wonderful industry.

While it seems some traditions never change, the dynamic nature of the automotive industry, and by extension the auto-care sector has seen events like this also evolve. In speaking with Autosphere, AIA Canada President JF Champagne, mentioned that this year, some new sponsors have entered the fold, plus among attendees, there was plenty of new blood, which speaks volumes about how the industry continues to evolve and adapt.

Greater synergies

Additionally, as synergies continue to grow between the mechanical and collision repair sectors of the industry, more collision industry attendees could be found this year. In floating around the numerous conversations taking place at this year’s AIA Canada night there was a lot of discussion regarding technology, ADAS requirements, bringing young people into the industry, as well as discussion on right to repair. In talking with AIA Canada’s  Vice President of Government Relations and Research, the passing of Bill 29 in Quebec represents a decisive victory for both the association and the independent auto-care sector, signalling a dynamic shift for the industry and sets the stage for greater consumer choice, which can only serve to benefit the entire industry. We hope you enjoy this selection of gallery photos from the evening’s festivities.
