The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has elected Joe Hinrichs as chairman of its Board of Directors. Hinrichs, who joined Goodyear’s board in 2023, will also chair the Governance and Executive Committees, succeeding retiring board chairman Laurette Koellner.
For commercial fleet managers, tire dealers, and automotive industry stakeholders across North America, the executive appointment places an experienced manufacturing leader at the helm of the tire maker. Hinrichs most recently served as president and chief executive officer of CSX Corporation following a long career at Ford Motor Company, where his executive roles included president of Ford of Canada and president of Global Automotive.
The governance transition comes as global tire manufacturers navigate shifting OEM production demands, supply chain optimizations, and market alignment around EV-specific tire platforms. Hinrichs’ background in vehicle assembly, international supply chains, and freight logistics is expected to guide Goodyear’s long-term commercial positioning and operational discipline.
