Canadian automotive service and tire retail giant Fountain Tire is celebrating its 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of operations since its founding in 1956 as a single garage in Wainwright, Alberta. Today, the organization spans 170 retail stores, wholesale distribution channels, and a dedicated Mine Service division. The company’s growth continues to be anchored by its signature 50/50 store ownership structure, which offers shop managers direct equity partnerships in their local businesses.
For independent tire dealers, commercial fleet partners, and wholesale distributors, Fountain Tire’s milestone underscores the stability of community-rooted associate models and diversified OTR/commercial service offerings.
According to Fountain Tire CEO Jason Herle, the company will commemorate its 70-year history throughout 2026 with internal associate recognition programs and local customer appreciation events across its store network.
