Big Changes at AARO

New title and mission for this long-established industry association.

Recently, at the AARO Annual General Meeting, members unanimously approved major changes to the association. Going forward, AARO has announced that it will now longer be the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario, but instead will be known as the Automotive Aftermarket Repair Organization (AARO) of Canada.

Note that that the words retailers and Ontario are absent from the revised association name. The change in title of the association better reflects its new mission which is to provide advocacy, support, training and leadership for independent service centres across Canada. A statement from AARO said that according to the Executive Board, the term “retailers” no longer accurately reflects the diverse and highly skilled professionals who make up the association. The absence of the word “Ontario,” also demonstrates, that the association is now focused on driving value not just in the province of Ontario, but across the entire country.

Stay tuned to Autosphere.ca for more developments regarding AARO’s new focus, as we highlight what represents a major shift in the Canadian aftermarket auto care landscape going forward.
