At AAPEX 2024 there were all kinds of new and innovative products on display. Stopping by to visit with the WD-40 team, Peter Suddard and Tracey Bharrat had the opportunity to show us the new Precision Pen. This incorporates the exact same formula found in traditional WD-40 spray cans, but is designed for accessing small areas, such as door hinges. “You simply give the pen a couple of pumps, and the liquid comes out. It’s a hard spray yet due to the nature of WD-40, it seeps quickly into seams and cracks,” explained Suddard during an on-site demonstration. He noted that it is also useful for use on toolboxes and even in household situations such as drawers or kitchen tools like scissors.
WD-40 also displayed its new Quick Drying Specialist Contact Cleaner that’s designed to clean sensitive electronic parts and leaves no residue behind. The Contact Cleaner cans now come in a patented Smart Straw technology format, with the straw integrated with the head of the can, ensuring not only that the straw never gets lost, but each use results in more controlled output and less mess. For the Canadian market WD-40 Smart Straw cans also come with a child lock system for added safety.
