A big announcement from Niterra (NGK/NTK) at AAPEX 2024 was a new line of starters and alternators for passenger vehicle and light truck applications. As Mark Gibson, National Sales Manager for Niterra in Canada explained, these are brand new, not remanufactured items. “We’re really excited about these new products,” Gibson stated. The new starters and alternators cover approximately 98% of current vehicles in operation (VIO) though Gibson notes that while these products will be available both in the U.S. and Canada, the approach to bringing them to market will be slightly different. “Here in Canada, we have a more traditional market [with Warehouse Distributors, jobbers and service providers] while in the U.S. there’s more retail volume. It’s a full product line we’re launching, and we will be looking at specific partners in specific regions, building an understanding of those markets and bring the product to those customers.”

Nittera also continues to expand its NGK aftermarket product offerings in the sparkplug and ignition component sectors, filling a valuable niche for professional jobbers and service centres by providing high quality components that leverage Niterra’s Original Equipment engineering expertise.
