The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 4:00 p.m. ET titled “Multiplexing and CAN Bus.”

This webinar covers diagnosing the Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus with information mostly available at the data link connector (DLC). Al Santini with Consulab will begin the webinar with a review of how CAN Bus functions. He will analyze the common wiring diagrams looking at a low-speed/high-speed system and later at a multiple high-speed system.

Participants will look at the information that is available to the technician/instructor using a digital multimeter (DMM) and a two-channel digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) from a diagnostic standpoint. In addition, Santini and the webinar attendees will also analyze the scan data that is helpful in diagnosing a CAN Bus system using a bi-directional scanner.

Participants in this webinar will receive a certificate of attendance for the live session. Please allow one week for automatic email delivery of the certificate.

After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing information about joining the webinar. Those who are not sure if they can attend are encouraged to register as they will receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available.
