Visiting the Dorman Products booth at AAPEX 2022, Autosphere had a chance to catch up with fellow Canadians Andrew Connor, Director of Canadian Market Sales and Derek Suen, Manager, New Product Development Team.

Dorman introduces approximately 4,000-5,000 parts per year and is able to provide upgrades over original OE components for superior reliability and performance.

Some examples showcased at AAPEX 2022, were an upgraded Aluminum Engine Oil Filter Housing assembly with Oil Cooler and filter for Chrysler Group vehicles fitted with the Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. Suen explained that often, the factory plastic housing degrades under consistent, extreme underhood temperature cycles. As a result, it can often crack when a technician is simply changing the oil filter. Dorman’s aluminum OE FIX replacement solves these issues and comes with all the required gaskets to ensure a trouble-free installation.

Suen and Connor also showed us new OE FIX stainless steel exhaust hardware kits. These are a result of requests from technicians and shops in Canada and northern U.S. states, who have to contend with rusty bolts, nuts and flanges due to our extreme weather conditions. These new kits are designed as a direct replacement for the OE fittings and their stainless- steel construction provides far greater rust resistance, making them a sound choice when replacing exhaust components.
