Massive automotive aftermarket expo adds more stages, alongside workshops and a roster of events.

Automechanika Frankfurt returns to the massive Messe Frankfurt expo centre from September 13-17. This year’s event promises to be even bigger than those in the past, with more workshops, keynote sessions, onsite events and product/service showcases.

Key aspects of Automechanika Frankfurt in 2022, include a focus on the future of mobility, with an Innovation4Mobility panel discussion taking place in Hall 3, plus a Future Mobility workshop in Hall 9, which will be conducted alongside other technical sessions.

Body and paint gets its own stage

Body and Paint will be hosted in Hall 11 and for the first time, this segment of the industry will feature its own stage at Automechanika Frankfurt. Sponsored by SATA, events scheduled to take place include a special session for IBIS, as well as a seminar entitled Maintaining Profitability in an Economic Crisis, courtesy of Michel Malik from BodyShop News in Australia. There will also be an awards ceremony for the Body & Paint Championships on September 16. More details can be found here.

Onsite workshops, which will take place every day from September 13-17, will be hosted by a variety of well-known aftermarket industry organizations including 3M, BASF Coatings/Glasurit, Carbon and DEKRA. These sessions run the gamut from working on high-voltage electric and hybrid vehicles, to damage cost calculation, ADAS systems and calibration, plus bodywork and paint. Eleven of these workshop sessions will be moderated by “Car Doctors,” automotive technical professionals from Autodokteren. Those wishing to attend can pre-register for these workshops online. More details can be found here.

Classic cars, detailing and audio

Other events taking place include a focus on classic car painting and restoration as well as, washing and detailing in Hall 12, as well as the EMMA Sound Quality Championship taking place outside, adjacent to Hall 12 on September 16-17. This will provide the audience a chance to listen to various high-end sound systems with the winner receiving an award on the last day of the show (September 17).

Automechanika Frankfurt will also be offering an app for 2022. Available from the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod, and via Google Play for Android devices, it enables attendees to interact with other participants as well as virtually navigate their way around the show via maps and event calendars.
