Vast-Auto Distribution announces that it has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of Canadian Auto Parts Suppliers (C.A.P.S.).
The parties expect the transaction to close on November 30, 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.
Over its 22-year history, Canadian Auto Parts Suppliers has established itself as a dominant auto parts retailer in Ottawa, Canada’s capital.
Founded in 1999 by Charles “Chuck” Berthiaume, C.A.P.S. is committed to serving both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers with a wide assortment of products and a highly trained staff of automotive parts specialists.
“I am delighted to have chosen to sell my business to Vast-Auto Distribution, which has clearly established itself as a leading Canadian distributor in the automotive aftermarket. From a business continuity perspective, and after working in the automotive industry for a large part of my career, the decision to sell was not an easy one, but today I know that this choice is the best one for the future of C.A.P.S. and our loyal customers and employees,” said Charles Berthiaume.
The completion of this transaction plays a central role for Vast-Auto Distribution in its long-term growth plan in Eastern Canada.
“We are delighted to welcome C.A.P.S., its 60 team members and its entire customer base to the Del Vasto Group. We are confident that our culture and commitment to our customers and employees will align with the business vision of Canadian Auto Parts Suppliers. In addition, we are very pleased to announce that Ghazi Mankal, a seasoned aftermarket professional who has been with C.A.P.S. since the very beginning of the company, will continue in his role as General Manager and Partner, allowing for a smooth transition,” said Mauro Cifelli, President and CEO of Del Vasto Group.
This transaction will allow C.A.P.S. to improve its services and operational efficiency through Vast-Auto’s strong supply chain, including its distribution center in Ottawa, and the use of its technology platforms.
