During our visit to the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Autosphere had the opportunity to stop by the Repairify booth and talk with Maurice Tuff, Technology, Marketing and Customer Satisfaction and Lesley Sparkes, VP Global Marketing.

Not only was it great to meet some fellow Canadians but also get a demonstration of the brand-new Duo scan tool from asTech, driven by Repairify.

The asTech Duo represents a game-changer for the aftermarket and collision repair industry in that it provides technicians with either the option of using a local, OEM compatible aftermarket scan or a remote OEM scan supported by I-CAR and ASE technicians when performing diagnostic and scanning functions.

“Compared with many other aftermarket scan tools, the asTech Duo offers that flexibility, plus we can validate that the aftermarket scan being performed on a particular vehicle is every bit as good as the OE tool used to perform a remote scan,” explained Tuff.

“The main thing to remember is giving the user, the shop and the technician a choice when it comes to performing scanning functions.”

Another key development that builds upon the technology found in the asTech Duo, is the all-in-one Tru-POINT ADAS Calibration system developed in conjunction with Snap On.

This new equipment allows both static and dynamic calibrations to be performed, allowing the ADAS sensors to be calibrated automatically. “Traditionally, we would conduct a pre-scan, go fix the vehicle, clear the codes and do a post-scan,” explained Tuff.

“Now we have a full suite of offerings to make sure that when the vehicle is brought in, it is fixed properly and safely, and it goes back on the road with all the sensors properly calibrated.”
