Boivin EVolution (BEV), a Quebec-based company headquartered in Levis, is the first company to offer 100% electric automated waste collection trucks.

Together with Mack Trucks, the company is announcing the release of North America’s first 100% electric waste collection truck. The truck was unveiled to the public and media on March 7th, 2022, at the Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère in Quebec City.

Sustainability and Efficiency

Unlike a hydraulic dump body, which relies on engine power to operate the automated arm and compactor, the BEV all-electric dump body and Mack chassis are battery-powered, yielding 100% fuel savings. When mounted on an electric truck, the system only consumes 45-50 kWh for a full day’s work and weighs 3000-4000 lbs lighter. Such great added value significantly increases the legal load. Overall, 80% savings in energy costs, 60% savings in maintenance costs, and lastly 85 tons of greenhouse gases (GHG) less per truck per year.
