The Ford veteran succeeds Beverly Goodman as the company prepares for the next phase of its Canadian manufacturing operations.

Ford Motor Company of Canada has named longtime Ford executive Ivan Boykin as its new President and CEO, effective Dec. 1.

Boykin succeeds Beverly Goodman, who will move into a new role as Chief of Staff to Ford President and CEO Jim Farley. Goodman has led Ford of Canada since 2021, overseeing a period that included significant developments at its Oakville Assembly Complex.

Boykin brings 30 years of experience with Ford to the Canadian operation. He joined the company in 1996 and has held leadership positions across marketing, sales, service, Ford Pro and finance. He most recently served as Ford’s Global Executive Director of Yield Management.

His career has included roles supporting dealers and customers throughout the U.S., as well as global product marketing responsibilities covering North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Boykin has also held several senior positions with Ford Pro, the company’s commercial vehicle and fleet business. His responsibilities included commercial vehicle sales and service, market representation and Ford Pro Elite Centers across the U.S. and Canada.

Earlier in his career, he led retail marketing, overseeing car buying programs and retail go-to-market strategies. He has also been involved with Ford’s employee resource groups, including mentoring employees and supporting their career development.

Overseeing Canadian operations

As President and CEO, Boykin will be responsible for Ford’s business operations across Canada. That includes the company’s Oakville headquarters, manufacturing and engine facilities, parts and distribution centres, and research and innovation operations.

Ford currently employs nearly 7,000 people in Canada, with another 20,000 people working across more than 430 Ford and Lincoln dealerships.

“Ivan brings the customer focus, business experience and strong dealer relationships we need to build on Ford of Canada’s momentum,” says Andrew Frick, President, Ford Blue & Model e. “He knows how to bring employees and dealers together around what matters most to customers, turning that focus into stronger execution and business results.”

Boykin takes over at a significant point for Ford’s Canadian manufacturing operations, with the Oakville Assembly Complex transformed to support production of the Super Duty pickup, adding another major chapter to the facility’s long history of vehicle manufacturing in Canada.

The plant’s transformation is part of Ford’s broader investment in its Canadian operations and is expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing footprint in the country.

Goodman’s notable legacy

Goodman’s tenure included helping guide that transformation, while also focusing on Ford’s market position and after-sales business.

“Under Bev’s leadership, Ford strengthened its position in Canada, growing market share and extending Ford’s leadership in F-Series trucks,” says Frick. “She leaves Ford of Canada stronger, with employees and dealers well positioned to deliver for customers and Ford’s future in Canada.”

Boykin will assume the Canadian leadership role as Ford continues to navigate changes across the automotive market, including evolving customer demand, the growth of commercial and connected vehicle services, and the ongoing transformation of its manufacturing operations.
